About the Project
A dated bathroom, taken to the studs and rebuilt as a retreat.
Simply Restored is a full bathroom renovation in South Florida where Nakamura Contractors stripped a dated bathroom back to the framing and rebuilt it as a spa-like retreat. A freestanding soaking tub now sits against a natural pine shiplap accent wall, with textured wave tile climbing the shower and matte black fixtures throughout.
The palette is warm and tactile. Pine runs the accent wall, black hexagonal floor tile grounds the room, and a skylight pulls daylight down over the tub. Every surface was rebuilt from the waterproofing up, so the finish that shows is backed by the work that does not.
Like every Nakamura build, one in-house team carried the project from demolition through the final fixture. Old structure opened up, waterproofing done right, tile and millwork finished by hand. Honest work, from the studs to the soak.

How we built it
Three movements, one continuous build.

Survey & Plan
Assess the existing bathroom, document what comes out, and plan the new layout around the family’s brief. Drawings and permits before the first tile is pulled.

Strip & Waterproof
Down to the studs. New framing where needed, mechanicals and rough-in, then a full waterproofing system on the shower walls and pan. The structural work the finish quietly depends on.

Tile & Finish
Wave tile, black hex floor, pine shiplap accent, freestanding tub, and matte black fixtures. Sequenced by the same in-house team end-to-end, with the punch-list closed before we leave.
