About the Project
The tub they never used, traded for the shower they do.
Tumlin Creek arrived as a master bathroom that had not changed since the 1990s: a corner jacuzzi tub on a tiled deck under the arched window, and next to it a shower stall barely wide enough to turn around in. The tub had not been filled in years. It was holding the best wall in the room.
So both came out. The tub deck was cut back to framing, the stall walls came down, and the two footprints became one oversized walk-in shower — frameless glass over a half-wall, stacked white tile running floor to ceiling, a hexagon mosaic pan with a linear drain, and a niche tiled in the same hexagon. The arched window stayed exactly where it was, and now it lights the shower instead of an empty tub.
Opposite it, a white-oak double vanity replaced the white raised-panel cabinets and the ten-bulb strip light: quartz counters, undermount sinks, arched brass mirrors, and black-and-brass globe sconces. Wood-look plank runs the full length of the room and through the water closet, so nothing breaks the line. One in-house team carried it from demolition to the last fixture — the same room, finally used.
From the People We Build For
Reviews from across Florida.
How we built it
Two rooms in one, rebuilt as one.
-
Plan the Trade
Measure what the garden tub and the corner stall each occupy, confirm the wall between them can go, and lay out one shower across both. Drawings, drain relocation and permits before anything is pulled.
-
Demo & Waterproof
Tub deck and stall walls out, back to framing. New half-wall and curb framed, plumbing re-run for the rainhead and handheld, cement board hung, then a full waterproofing system on walls, curb and pan before a single tile is set.
-
Tile, Cabinetry & Glass
Stacked wall tile, hexagon mosaic pan and niche, white-oak vanity with quartz counters, plank flooring wall to wall, then the frameless glass measured to the finished opening. Same in-house team end to end, punch-list closed before we leave.
